Who am I?

Today was my third appointment with my therapist. She's really nice and I feel like we can make some progress on getting me to feel better about life. She asked me to journal about who I am. She said, "if someone was writing a newspaper article about you, what would they write?"

I've got nothing. I used to have hobbies, I used to be passionate about things, but not anymore. If someone wrote about me it would sound like this, "She's lazy, loves to sleep, skips school (and is therefore unsuccessful), and she's not motivated."

I think it's pathetic and sad that my life has come to this. I'm not passionate about anything, I don't have any hobbies, and I don't ever do much. I think I need to look at my life and reevaluate how I am living. Of course I'm not motivated if nothing drives me. I'm off to think. I need some drive, some passion in my life.

just from what i know from here and blog frog....what I've deduced about you, or the impression I get.

She's an animal lover. She's creative. She cares enough about herself to recognize she's not in a good place right now, and to want to change and be in a better place. She loves her family. And her friends.

Best of luck to you as you work on the essay/paper for your therapist. I know it isn't easy.

eureka!

This reminds me of Eckhart Tolle who writes that it is huge progress to realize you are NOT sure who you are. He also "It is through knowing who you are not that the greatest obstacle to knowing who you are is removed."

Thanks for commenting on my post as well!

I often wondered the same thing, "who am I?" I learned that when I said I was lazy, sad, and a drunk, I became just that because what we think is what we become. I started to wear a rubber bracelet (you know the kind that has sayings-today I have a "A complaint free world.org (funny I chose that this morning) Every time I say something negative I change the bracelet to the other arm. This helped me to realize or catch myself when I start to get in a slump... give it a try!
There is nothing bad about having sad thoughts it is just a lot more fun to have happy ones. Like your other friends already said you are a young, pretty, smart, and enthusiastic woman who is surrounded by a great guy, family, friends, and a cute puppy. There really isn't a huge need to surround yourself with a ton of hobbies to fill in the day, just take a walk and notice the beautiful surroundings surrounding around you already! Have fun, Mike
p.s. thanks for stopping by my blog again, it is always nice to have visitors!

You may want to reevaluate some things in your life and that's never bad. I do think, however, that you have a lot to add to everyone. You are supportive of others, you love animals, you think about how you can improve yourself, you make cool crafts, and you seem pretty fun. Those are just some instant impressions, I am sure there is so much more.

eureka!

Thank you so much you guys! It means so much that you would take the time to say these wonderful things :) I really appreciate it!
